Agnaktor
Type: Leviathan
Description: Also known as fire-pike wyverns, Agnaktor use their tough beaks and great strength to burrow through rock... and sometimes even cave ceilings. Encrusted with hardened lava that can soften from the heat when they spit magma or burrow.
§ Creature's Element: Fire
§ Creature's Weakness: Water
General Strategy
This monster has two different forms. One where it is glowing and covered in lava, and another where it is black and the lava hardens. In its second form it is immune to most attacks and
takes at least blue sharpness to pierce its armor. When he goes underground or uses his lava beam attack it will melt the lava making him vulnerable. Almost every part of Agnaktor's body can be broken. Once broken it cannot harden making it vunerable to attack permanetly. It is best to attack his chest first, as breaking it early on will make the fight go faster due to having an alway open hit area. Always hit the parts where the lava is attached to the body, but if only on a few parts are covered with lava just wait until it goes back into the ground. Also when you see blast fire while its in the ground get in front of its chest and you won't get hit with the blast and you could land a few hits to his chest and other areas. Lastly when the Agnaktor is in the ground is not in rage throw a sonic bomb to get him out. This will make it much easier to finish the sub-quest for breaking his beak.

Type: Neopteron
Description: Insects that widely inhabit many areas. Noted for absorbing fruit, mushrooms and honey, then carrying them back to the nest. Materials can thus be collect from their swollen abdomens, whose color is related to what is being carried.
§ Weakness: Fire
§ Altaroths can only be carved after being poisoned.
§ Being hit by their acid will cause a temporary drop in your Defense.
§ These insects are usually found in groups of 3 or more.
§ Attack them from the side to avoid their attacks.
§ Look for Altaroths with fat "tails", this means they have stored resources within. Kill them and then pick up these supplies.
§ Even in large numbers, these insects don't prove to be a huge threat.
Type: Herbivore
Description: Relatively docile herbivores with characteristic crest plates. They form herds and raise young communally, and have been used as pack animals for generations; their meat is tasty and nutritious. Very cautious around large monsters.
§ Weakness: Fire
§ These are not aggressive creatures. They will generally flee from conflict rather than engage in it.
§ Know however that they can ram you with their head and hit you by swinging their tail.
§ Attack these herbivores from the side to be essentially free from any danger of retaliation.
Type: Bird Wyvern
Description: Highly intelligent, carnivorous bird wyverns that hunt in packs. Noted for their blue scales and sharp glare. Baggi are feared for their ability to secrete a tranquilizing fluid; it can knock even humans out for several seconds.
§ Weakness: Fire
§ Baggi can spit Sleep inducing saliva.
General Strategy
Baggi are much like Jaggi, however Baggi prefer cold climates and can spit sleep inducing saliva at you. To avoid this, stay on the move when facing multiple Baggi. If you stand in one place attacking one Baggi, another one will likely hit your with its sleep spit. Hit and move to avoid standing in one place too long. One on one, Baggi pose little threat to you. However, you'll want to be extra cautious when facing large numbers of them. Baggi will generally lunge at you with their teeth or while swinging their tail. If you are directly next to them, watch out for their spinning tail attack.
Type: Bird Wyvern
Description: Highly intelligent, carnivorous bird wyverns that hunt in packs. Noted for their blue scales and sharp glare. Baggi are feared for their ability to secrete a tranquilizing fluid; it can knock even humans out for several seconds.
§ Creature's Element: None
§ Creature's Weakness: Fire
§ Habitats: Tundra
§ Great Baggi can spit potent Sleep inducing saliva.
General Strategy
These creatures are very much like the Great Jaggi. Do stand directly in front of them. When attacking the beast, try to position yourself back by the hind legs. Know however that attacking anywhere from the side to back is generally okay. Just be ready to evade when the creature makes a move. If near the front side of the Great Jaggi, watch out for it turning bite attack. It can curl its head around to bite you from the side. You'll also want to its tail attack when at close range. The Great Baggi will turn sideways and curl up only to fling itself sideways unleashing its tail. You want to roll out of the way to avoid this attack.
At a distance, the Great Baggi can either charge you with a body slamming attack or it will spit a potent sleep inducing saliva at you. If hit, you can avoid falling asleep by quickly drinking the Energy Drink which you should have brought from the Blue Chest at Base Camp. If not, you will collapse on the ground for a fair amount of time until you eventually awake on your own or you are hit by an attack. This can prove to be a deadly 1 2 punch from the Great Baggi so you best avoid this spit by staying close to the creature and to its sides.
Type: Flying Wyvern
Description: Wyverns that rule the eternally frozen Tundra. Barioth uses their huge tusks and spiked scales to move freely atop the slippery ice; this ability makes them very difficult to keep up with.
§ Creature's Element: Ice
§ Creature's Weakness: Fire
§ Habitats: Tundra
General Strategy
If you played MH2 and think this is just like the Tigrex you're totally wrong. First thing when it flys don't try to hit it cause it will be for nothing. When it charges at you three times it will automatically stop and do nothing for a few seconds, use this time to attack the parts that are harder for you to hit like the tail or head. Also do everything to avoid his ice blast because it's devastating. Fast fire weapons are your best bet to killing this monster i suggest the fire wyvern blade or the djinn, so killing the rathalos and rathian before this is crucial. Another thing bring a shock or pitfall trap because you could complete the sub-quest and it'll give you time to smack his tusks out. Good luck out there fellow hunters!!!
Type: Brute Wyvern
Description: Barroth usually remain beneath the mud, perhaps to shield themselves from heat; they are even know to fling mud to attack. They will charge in a frenzy at anything that disturbs their bogs.
§ Creature's Element: None
§ Creature's Weakness: The Barroth has two weaknesses that vary whether you are hitting the mud on its body. With mud, the creature is weak to Water. When clean, it is weak to Fire.
§ Habitats: Sandy Plains
General Strategy
Like all monsters, you'll want to observe Barroth's behaviors and patterns when you first encounter it. The Barroth is incredibly fast and likes to charge you when there is a large distance between you and it. Watch for it to lower its head as this is the sign of an incoming charge. When facing the charging Barroth, roll to the right of it. The beast ends the attack by rearing its head up off the ground and then swinging its tail. The majority of the time the tail swings to the left which is why you want to roll to the right of it. The most important thing to keep in mind when evading the charge, is to run/roll directly to right. Don't roll forward and right as the creature can veer while charging and is likely to hit you. You need to simply roll or run perpendicular to the Barroth's charge to avoid it.
The Barroth is a strange creature that loves mud and likes to cover itself in mud. It will cover its legs, arms, tail and back with patches of mud. The mud doesn't really provide armor for the creature, it simply changes it weakness. When attacking a mud covered point, the Barroth is weak to Water. When it is clean, the Barroth is weak against Fire. Know that by simply hitting a splotch of mud repeatedly you can knock it off to "clean" that particular spot.
Aside from coating its body in mud, the Barroth will also store mud within the crown-like head it has. The beast then likes to shake its body feverishly fling globs of mud all around the surrounding area. If you are hit by this falling mud, you will become covered in mud which impairs your movement and prevents you from attacking and using most of your items. The only thing you can use is a Cleanser which will instantly clean your body of the mud. If not, an ally (such as a Cha-Cha) can hit you and free you from your muddy prison or you can simply avoid all attacks by rolling and eventually it will wear off.
Your focus for battling a Barroth should be its hind legs. The idea being that you evade his charge then rush it and attack his legs. Its hard for him to hit while you stand directly between his legs, but the creature moves around so much that you will have a hard time remaining directly under it. The Barroth moves around a lot which makes attacking him difficult. You need to attack it directly after it has attacked (and hopefully missed) you. So, evade the charge and immediately run in and attack the creature's legs. It will then either, back up for another charge, shake to fling mud, back up and slam its head into the ground, or perform a twirling tail or head attack (it depends on whether you're closer to the tail or head but both act the same). The spinning attacks can usually be dodged by rolling. Just know that it will usually perform two spin attacks in a row. If it does this, you can generally stay relatively close to the beast as you dodge the twirling attacks and then follow through by attacking the legs again. If the Barroth begins to shake however, your best option is to flee his immediate area to avoid being hit by falling mud. Just be ready to rush the Barroth as the last couple blobs of mud fly so you can get back to hitting the monster. The head ground pound is pretty easy to dodge as long as you roll right or left. Don't go straight back away from the creature though as globs of mud will pop out and land directly in from of the Barroth.
Fighting the Barroth (especially for the first time) can be a long and frustrating battle. Its almost constant movement can make it difficult to hit. Your goal should be to learn the creatures movements and attacks so you can avoid them then be hitting the Battoth during the few seconds after. Try to stay around its legs to attack it but don't be against fleeing from retaliation as this will simply open up another moment for you to attack.
Note that the creature can roll around in shallow water to reapply mud to its body. If you are near it, simply take this opportunity to attack the beast while its preoccupied (just watch out for its flailing tail).
Type: Neopteron
Description: Flying insects that inhabit most environments. They attack invaders with a paralyzing poison, and lay eggs in carrion together with a body fluid that hastens decomposition. Attracted to light, they gather around any fire.
§ Weakness: Fire
§ These insects are drawn towards torches.
Type: Elder Dragon
Description: Legendary elder dragons known as both "shinning giants of the depths" and "great sea dragons." Not confirmed to exist until recently. The Moga quakes were due to a Ceadeus butting its abnormally long horns into the earth.
§ Creature's Element: Water
§ Creature's Weakness: Dragon
General Strategy
This thing is humongous and most hunter don't even get to this quest in the story mode and if those hunters do get to this quest you have to read this and follow everything that's on this, no joke this is a tremendously hard beast. First get an armor set that has great water res. lagiacrus is great armor for this. Also your weapon must be of thunder attribute i used the thunderclap and killed it and if it was upgraded i could've killed it faster so try to get the thunderclap blade. Another thing if you don't kill it or repel it before the time runs out don't worry the next time you take on that quest all the damage you dealt the first time will still be dealt on the Ceadeus so you have a better chance of killing it the seocnd time around. Ok now lets gets to the tactics. In the beginning you will see a short clip of the Ceadeus in your area and then you must follow it into the water cave, and yes you will be in the water the whole mission so you need lots of oxygen supplies. Well in the first area the Ceadeus moves really slow so you should get in front of it and start attacking the face or if it moves in front of you just keep hitting it where ever you can. At times it will move in a way that you will be hit and it'll slow you down but just keep swimming in front of it. After smacking it around in the first few areas you will get to the last area where the real trouble will start. It will start attacking and it wont be as easy to hit his face but you must hit his face and horns to rip those horns off. Also if you have enough time you could try to take off its tail. When taking off its horns you must get it close to machine thats in the middle of the area and strike the button that releases the spikes from the wall and it will stab the Ceadeus if you got it at the right position. This may or may not kill it but if it doesnt just keep smacking him around until you hopefully repel or kill him on the first try, if not try the quest again. This time at the camp don't jump into the water instead go to the back and there will be a spot where you can jump into the water and you will go to the second area instead of the first which will get you to the Ceadeus a lot quicker. When you get to the last area just get him to the machine and try to hit him again then just keep hitting him and if you don't kill him you will most likely repel him. When you finish the quest you'll be able to get its armor and weapons, they're great for water monster and the weapons are good for fire creatures. Good luck hunters you'll need it for!!!
Type: Piscine Wyvern
Description: Carnivorous monsters that inhabit deserts. Delex always travel in schools of five or six. When near large monsters on the hunt, they will attempt to surround the prey and scavenge feed. Known to flee if other Delex are injured.
§ Weakness: Ice
§ Delex usually travel in small herds.
§ General Strategy*
To get these suckers out of the desert sand without running around and chasing them you have to use a sonic bomb and they will jump out the ground, this also works for the cephalos in MH2 and MH1
Type: Brute Wyvern
Description: The dreaded, nomadic Deviljho have no specific territory of their own. Their muscles swell if provoked, revealing old wounds. Needing to feed constantly due to high body heat, they can hunt nearby animals to extinction.
§ Creature's Element: Dragon
§ Creature's Weakness: Thunder
§ Habitats: Deserted Island, Sandy Plains, Flooded Forest, Tundra, Volcano
Type: Flying Wyvern
Description: Wyverns feared as desert tyrants. Extremely territorial, Diablos attack invaders with blind aggression. Highly sensitive to sound, perhaps because they frequently travel beneath the sand. Known to feed on cacti.
§ Creature's Element: None
§ Creature's Weakness: Ice
§ Habitats: Sandy Plains
§ General Strategy
The Diablos are one of the biggest monsters in the game other than the legendary monsters, and the bigger doesn't mean this thing ain't gonna be better. He constantly goes into the ground and charges after you. There really isn't much strategy to this monster except don't get hit when he charges and try to get strong armor with the ability to not get stopped by his screams. Good luck hunters!!!
Type: Herbivore
Description: Submissive, water-dwelling herbivores that subsist on water grasses and moss. Epioth surface frequently to sunbathe. Extremely timid, they panic when danger is near, swimming about in haphazard fashion.
§ Epioths are peaceful herbivores. They will rarely attack you.
Type: Lynian
Description: Bipedal creatures resembling cats, known for their light hair. Though usually docile, they will attack viciously if provoked. Naturally curious, some try to enter human society. Fond of Felvine, they will follow its scent anywhere.
§ Felynes are generally found in small groups.
§ They usually won't attack you unless provoked.
Type: Fish
Description: This category includes carnivorous fish (Sharq, Catfish, migratory fish (Tuna, Arowanas), and natatorial fish (Molids, Perciformes). Fish often flee when attacked, so hunters prefer to use harpoons to obtain materials from them.
Type: Flying Wyvern
Description: Wyvern larvae. Remarkably fecund, they survive in any dark environment. Giggi are sensitive to light and heat, and hence avoid torches. They are also known to leech blood from other animals, converting it into toxins.
§ Weakness: Fire
§ If a Giggi attaches itself to you, it will drain your health. Roll a couple of times to shake them off.
Description: Wyverns that inhabit the Tundra. Known to stun prey with poison, then freeze the meat in caves. Gigginox live in darkness and thus have degraded vision; they detect prey through body heat. Extremely fertile, laying innumerable eggs.
§ Creature's Element: Poison
§ Creature's Weakness: Fire
§ Habitats: Tundra
Type: Leviathan
Description: Monsters with strong camouflage skills and powerful neurotoxins. Poor swimmers, Gobul conceal themselves, and lure prey by imitating plants with their barbles. Can reportedly swallow Epioth whole. They love frogs.
§ Creature's Element: None
§ Creature's Weakness: Thunder
§ Habitats: Flooded Forest
§ The Gobul's tail and lantern can be cut off.
§ Know that you can fish the Gobul out of the water in Area 4 of the Flooded Forest by using a Frog as bait.
General Strategy
Bring some Frogs with you when facing a Gobul (they can be gathered in Area 10 of the Deserted Island). You will also want to bring some extra Potions and maybe even Nutrients to increase your health meter. Upon entering the Flooded Forest, scope out the map and look for the area with the yellow circle around it. Generally, when not engaged in combat, a Gobul will burry itself at the bottom of a water-filled area. Unless it is in Area 4, you'll need to swim down to the floor bed and search for the hidden beast. You will want to look for tall fungi looking stems sticking up with a slightly discolored floor surface next to it. Hit this surface with your weapon to disturb the creature and lure it out of hiding (just be sure not to float around directly above it after waking the Gobul). If the creature is in Area 4 however, you can stand on the edge of the lake and use a Frog to fish it out (which completes Subquest B). Simply toss the frog into the water and the Gobul will come out from hiding and take the bait. Know that directly after fishing the Gobul out of the water you'll have a few free moments to attack it while it is stunned.
Ideally, you'll want to fight the Gobul on land in Area 4. This provides you with plenty of room to maneuver around it. You're main point of attack should be the beast's tail and the base of the tail. Avoid standing along the side of the creature at all costs as it can puff out its spikes and then roll sideways (like the Royal Ludroth). Basically you want to keep running around to the back of the Gobul to attack its tail. Just watch for the tail to stand up as this signifies that it will swipe the tail back and forth which will paralyze you if it hits you. Simply flee the vicinity when you see this is about to happen. If it turns to face you, simply run around it to the back. Watch out for it leaping bite attack that acts like a charge. It will generally back up first and then leap at you. Simply run and roll to the right or left to avoid this attack. On land, the Gobuls attacks are a lot easier to avoid and it is a lot easier for you to successfully attack it. If the Gobul leaves Area 4 and you have trouble fighting it, try to lure it back here and fish it out of the water to have a much easier fight with the creature.
On land, you can battle the creature pretty aggressively but in the water you'll want to play defensively. Under water, the Gobul is a lot more dangerous. Its just a lot harder for you to land any number of attacks without being hit by the Gobul's retaliation. One thing to keep in mind it to sheath your weapon whenever you are not attacking the Gobul. This will allow you to swim around and maneuver a lot easier. When swimming around, the Gobul can charge attack you from almost anywhere within the area. You'll want to swim right or left and evade to avoid being bitten. You'll want to try to attack the creature from either directly below it or directly above it. If you can position yourself to be in either spot directly after one of the Gobul's attacks, you should be able to land a number of hits.
Once you do hit the creature's tail or the top of its head a couple times, you'll want to preemptively flee before it attacks. Generally, upon being attacked from anywhere, the Gobul will puff out its body spikes and twirl around which can deal some heavy damage are hit by it. Its best to simply hit the creature once or twice, then quickly get away from it to avoid the spinning spike attack. Again, play extremely cautiously when battling the Gobul under water. Don't get too aggressive with your attacks or it will tear you up.
In addition to swimming around, the Gobul can also re-burry itself in the sea floor. If it does this, you will generally have to go swim by it and either touch the fake plants disturb it or hit the creature while its under ground to lure it out. Look for the circular patch of discolored sand on the ground. Know too that the Gobul can move around and follow you while buried. Whatever it may be doing under there, just don't wait float around directly above it. The Gobul will either launch itself directly up from the floor and pop out of the water then splash back down into it or it will pop out and begin sucking in water and ultimately you if you are caught within its radius. When the Gobul is performing this vacuum attack, swim around behind it and hit the back of it while it sucks in nothing.
On top of all this, the Gobul also has a small "lantern" on its head. This will occasionally spark to signify an upcoming flash. When this sparks, swim/run away from the creature to avoid being blinded and dizzied by the flash of bright light. The lantern along with the tail can be cut off. The lantern however is much harder to hit.
Your basic strategy should be to battle the creature on land as much as possible. When it is in the water, don't play aggressively with it. You are simply biding your time until you can get him back into Area 4. There's really no reason to fight the creature under water in Area 4. Simply stand at the edge of the lake and fish him out with Frogs. If he's in other areas however, you'll have little choice, just be careful. Area 1 can prove pretty dangerous. While it is "land" there is shallow water here which allows the Gobul to burry itself and then lunge at you. Your best bet here is to keep running around to avoid the lunge then quickly attack the tail. Whether on land or in the water, the tail is the best place to attack the Gobul.
Depending on how much time is spent in the water you may be in for a long battle. Just be patient, don't get careless and you will eventually defeat the Gobul.
Type: Bird Wyvern
Description: Highly social, carnivorous bird wyverns that live in large packs. Young Jaggi males hunt in groups, attack much larger animals. Current research suggests they operate under orders from an alpha male. Aggressive but wary of fire.
§ Weakness: Fire
§ Often found in groups, be careful when facing a large amount of Jaggi as they can overwhelm you with their numbers.
§ Attacking them from the side is the best way to avoid their bite. However, watch out for their tail spin attack.
§ When facing a number of Jaggi, don't linger in one spot too long. Perform a combo then move and repeat. This will help you avoid being attacked by other Jaggi.
Type: Bird Wyvern
Description: Female Jaggi that stay in groups, Jaggia generally cluster around the nest to defend it and raise whelps. Smaller than mature males, but larger and tougher than the countless young males. Jaggia also operate under an alpha's orders.
§ Weakness: Fire
§ Jaggie attack mainly with their head, either by biting or ramming with it.
§ Attack these creatures from the sides to avoid being bitten.
§ When facing multiple Jaggia, adopt a hit and move tactic. Hit one creature from the side then move around to another to avoid being attacked by other Jaggia.
Type: Bird Wyvern
Description: The commanding alpha male of Jaggi packs. Most males leave the upon reaching maturity, returning later to compete with others. The dominant male then becomes a Great Jaggi. Apparently, they can issue fairly complex orders via howling.
§ Creature's Element: None
§ Creature's Weakness: Fire
§ Habitats: Deserted Island, Sandy Plains
General Strategy
The Great Jaggi has a number of basic attacks that range from a charge, a twirl, and a bite. All can be avoided if you keep an eye on its body language and evade out of the way in between your own attacks. Don't stay in one place for more than brief combo. Keep your finger on the evade button and evade after everything you do. You want to try to stay back by its legs and attack those repeatedly. Simply keep moving around as it does to keep yourself in this position as much as possible. Keep this up until you can capture or kill it.
Type: Elder Dragon
Description: Rare ore can be mined from these enormous dragons' backs; thus they are considered prosperity symbols. They swallow vast amounts of organic material and are always surround by scavenging Delex, which sailors use to locate them.
§ Creature's Element: Dragon
§ Creature's Weakness: Ice
Type: Herbivore
Description: Small herbivores known for their gentle demeanor. Kelbi horns are effective against various diseases, but recent research has shown the animal must be kept alive to harvest quality material. Thus, they must be stunned first.
§ Kelbi are quick animals that can be difficult to hit with slow wielding weapons. Use lighter faster weapons when hunting Kelbi.
§ Look out for the larger horned males as they will attack you to protect others.
§ If hunting for their horns make sure to use the shield bash with the lance or SnS and kick than slap for the GS to K.O. rather than kill for a huge jump in chances.
Type: Leviathan
Description: Known as sea wyverns, Lagiacrus are at the top of the aquatic food chain. Feared by sailors as the "Lords of the Seas", they store enough electricity in their spinal organs to make the oceans surge. Occasionally seen resting on land.
§ Creature's Element: Thunder
§ Creature's Weakness: Fire
§ Habitats: Deserted Island, Flooded Forest
General Strategy
Note going into this battle that you will want a weapon with Green or higher sharpness available. The Lagiacrus' thick hide is hard to damage, you'll want the sharpest weapon at your disposal and you'll want to keep it sharp throughout the battle.
A Lagiacrus has a number of extremely dangerous attacks, on land and in the water. It loves to charge directly at you which can cause serious damage. Your best bet for survival is to always be trying to circle around the beast. Don't linger in front of the creature (up close or at a distance) as its fastest attacks affect the area in front of it. You generally want to be attack the side of the monster or the back/tail area (however this is sometimes difficult to rest due to the size of the beast). The Lagiacrus is surprisingly quick to turn to face you so much of the battle will be spent trying to strafe around to the side of it.
The side of the Lagiacrus isn't completely safe however. The monster can preform a coiling attack in which it will coil inwards and into a tight ball then swing its tail out for a second attack. If you are attacking the side and it coils up on you, you are going to suffer major damage. Watch the creature's head for signs of its coil attack (this can happen on land and in the water). Additionally the beast can perform a sideways attack where it quickly strafes sideways (to the similar effect of the Royal Ludroth's roll).
On top of the variety of "melee" attack the creature has, it can also shoot a lightning ball (on land and in the water). As long as you are moving to the right or left, this is relatively easy to dodge. Just watch for the creature to rear its head up and charge the attack in its mouth.
Really the only attack that is strictly used in the water is the electrical discharge. The spikes on the creatures back will charge over time. Eventually they will discharge and electrocute anything within range. If you see the Lagiacrus flash with electricity, quickly flee the surrounding area to reach a safe distance before being caught in the discharge and being electrocuted.
It's slightly easier to battle the creature on land. Under water you'll need to play extremely defensively. Essentially, you'll want to spend most of your time with your weapon sheathed to avoid the monster's attacks and then perform a quickly single hit then flee before it retaliates. Hovering at close range under water is surely a death wish. Keep your distance and strike just after it performs an attack then back off.
This doesn't mean that on land you can play that aggressively however. You will spend most of your time trying to maneuver around to the side of the beast. It will frequently rotate along with you though so a lot of times you simply need to dodge a charge attack at close range then turn right around and hit it with a quick combo. You're not looking to deal a lot of damage to a Lagiacrus quickly. That will usually just get you killed. Your goal is to deal a lot of damage over a long period of time. When facing a Lagiacrus be sure to have plenty of health potions and be ready for a long battle. Its better to play safely and live than to play aggressively and die.
Type: Leviathan
Description: Aquatic female monsters. Ludroth form "harems" around large males, hence gathering in territories designated as breeding grounds. They're known to be extremely aggressive towards outsides; caution is advised.
Tips & Facts
§ Weakness: Thunder
§ Attack Ludroths from the side and don't stand in front of them. All of their attacks come from the front so by standing to the side, they are relatively harmless.
§ When facing a number of Ludroths at once, don't stand in one place very long. Keep moving around to avoid being blindsided by an unseen Ludroth.
Type: Leviathan
Description: Royal Ludroth use their sponge-like neck scales to absorb water and prevent drying out on land. Once the sponge loses moisture, they attempt to re-enter the water. They also spew mucus to trip up their prey.
§ Creature's Element: Water
§ Creature's Weakness: Fire
§ Habitats: Deserted Island, Flooded Forest
§ Avoid standing directly to the side of this creature. It can roll to the right or left and crush you.
General Strategy
This is a large carnivore that is incredibly vicious, know that it is weak to Fire. Your two points of attack should be its mane (the yellow sponge around its neck) and the creature's tail. The number one reason for this tactic is to avoid standing to its side where it can hit you with a deadly roll attack. If your attacking from the front or behind, this attack can be easily dodged.
Attacking from the front though can prove dangerous however. You're going to want to spend a lot of time evading the Royal Ludroth's attacks. A decent strategy is to attack the creature's front, dodge its attack by rolling around to the side of it and following through by hitting its tail, the repeat. This will keep you moving and hopefully avoid the beast's attacks.
Fighting the Royal Ludroth on land is one thing, fighting it in the water is another. At one point or another, the Royal Ludroth will probably jump into some water. This cuts down on your maneuverability which makes it harder to do battle with the large monster. If you can, try swimming directly over the beast and attacking its mane while floating above it. This is one of the safest places you can be as the Royal Ludroth can't quickly hit you from this position. It can however swipe at you from the sides, ram and bite you in front of it and even twirl around to hit you directly behind it. These are all options for you, but just limit your attacks to one or two hits before moving to avoid retaliation.
The Royal Ludroth will provide you with a long battle. Keep your weapon sharp, your stamina high (so you can evade frequently), and your body healthy. You can attempt to lure the creature back onto land late in the fight. Staying in the water can become a death trap. Keep working the beast over until you've captured or killed it.
Type: Lynian
Description: Bipedal creatures resembling cats, known for their dark hair. More curious than Felynes and possessed by kleptomania, Melynxes take what they steal back to their dens. Felvine intoxicates them, causing them to drop things at times.
§ Be careful when engaging these little foes. They will often steal items from you when they hit you.
Type: Herbivore
Description: herd-forming herbivores. Covered in think fur to endure the cold. Popo are gentle, but known to use their massive tusks bravely when defending their young. Popo meat is very nutritious; the tongue is said to be especially palatable.
§ Weakness: Fire
Type: Bird Wyvern
Description: Bird wyverns with unique plumage. Well known for using their thoracic vocal organs to imitate other monsters' calls, first summoning them, then using the distraction to flee. Spits a dangerous combustible body fluid.
§ Creature's Element: Fire
§ Creature's Weakness: Ice
§ Habitats: Deserted Island, Flooded Forest, Sandy Plains
§ Qurupeco has armor plating along the side of its legs which makes it impossible to damage by attacking its side.
§ Aim for the bird's throat bubble when it takes a deep breath.
§ This creature has a number of attacks for directly in font of it. Be careful when facing it head on and be ready to evade away before it can hit you.
§ Watch out when at mid range as the Qurupeco can spit a deadly fluid at you.
General Strategy
When fighting the Qurupeco, note that the outer sides of its legs are armored. You won't be able to hurt him by hitting him there nor will you by hitting the "elbow" of the front of his wings. Your best plan of attack is to hit the Qurupeco directly in the front or in the back side and tail. You really want to focus on attacking his chest when it puffs it out. If you hit him enough to make him stumble during his little dance, he will drop a Wyvern Tear (look for the sparkle on the ground).
The majority of the Qurupeco's attack come from the front. While this is the place you ideally want to be attacking, you need to stay on your toes and evade the Qurupeco's attacks. It will often slam its wings together causing a small explosion. If you are hit by this, you will be affected by fire damage which will continue to burn you until you put yourself out (roll on the ground a number of times or run into water). Try to attack just after the Qurupeco attacks, then quickly roll out of the way as it will more than likely attack again. Like most large monsters; attack and roll, attack and roll.

§ Creature's Element: Fire
§ Creature's Weakness: Thunder
§ Habitats: Deserted Island, Sandy Plains, Flooded Forest
§ Note that you can cut off the tail and wound the head and the two wings.
General Strategy
It's best to be prepared when facing a Rathian. You'll want to bring Antidotes, health Potions, and Paintballs at the very least. Additionally, you'll really want to use a weapon with green sharpness. The Rathian has thick armored skin that lessor blades will have a hard time penetrating. Also note that if you have the option of wearing Fire resistant armor, you should do so. Finally, keep in mind that a Rathian is weakest to the Dragon Element but it is also somewhat weak against Ice and Thunder.
Be sure to Paintball the creature upon finding it. The Rathian will take flight and change areas frequently and you'll want to know where it is going at all times. Your main goal when facing this beast is to try and stay under its body in between its legs. A Rathian likes to charge across areas and by staying to the side/behind/under you will avoid its frequent charge. By staying under the base of the tail, it will have a hard time hitting you in generally. You may get kicked around a bit as the creature shuffle around in circles, but it won't be able to deal that much damage to you. However, this position does but you in direct danger of its most deadly attack.
The Rathian's backflip affects the areas directly under and in front of the beast. It will flip itself into the air backwards while swiping its tail from back to front. Not only is this attack extremely damaging, it will also cause long term poison damage. This is why you bring lots of Antidotes to a Rathian fight. Note however that the Rathian will give you a clear signal of when it will perform this attack. Watch for the creature to take two steps backwards and hunch forward. This is the sign to get out of of the way now! It does have a narrow range of affect but just be sure you clear it before the backflip happens.
While the Rathian can attack from the air and while on the ground. Most of your offense should take place when it is on the ground. Sheath your weapon when the creature takes flight to increase your mobility so you can avoid its attacks. If the creature is preoccupied with something and the tail is just limply hanging there within reach, feel free to attack it. Just be ready to move as its attention is likely to switch to you.
At a distance, the Rathian can not only charge directly at you, it can also spit fireballs at you. It can do this in increments of 1 or 3 or it can spit a cone of fire directly in front of itself. This stuff shouldn't pose much a threat to you as long as you are two the side, back, or underneath the creature. Note that the creature does have a spinning attack. This can prove fatal if you are to the sides of the beast but generally won't affect you if you're under its legs.
As the battle wears on, the Rathian will get angrier. Note that it will charge a number of times in a row, shoot more fireballs, and can even perform two backflips. Note that it will land briefly in between backflips so don't rush in until you now it is not going to backflip instantly again. When a Rathian begins to act this way, you know you are close to victory. Keep at it until the creature has been killed or captured.

Of all the people who fight this monster i should be a freaking expert because I killed this Uragaan a few 15 times to get the armor and once you know his moves he is pretty easy. You need a good water weapon whichever you want is good and you need and armor that is strong and is very fire resistant and bring other items like cool drinks traps and flash bombs. To take off his chin or tail you must keep hitting those parts over and over and over again, but to take off the tail you need a weapon with long reach like a long sword or lance. Another helpful hint, when he is hungry he will fall whenever he rolls and this gives you a good time to take off some body parts, but if you just wanna get a quick kill just stay under him whenever you can and start slashing him up in his belly.Good luck hunters!!!
Description: Leviathans that inhabit volcanoes. Noted for swarming around larger monsters' kills in order to feed. Uroktor rarely hunt for themselves, but stab upwards at prey from the ground when they do. Known for being highly aggressive.
§ Weakness: Water
